Chef at home: enjoy at home

Mother's chef, Chef Bart Samsom, is your chef at homeBorn in the Netherlands but raised in the US with parents who had a great passion for food and cooking. His father is biological agricultural inspector in the US, where Bart got his sense of quality. His culinary skills, of course, come from his mother! His experience in the kitchen is extensive, gained in many different restaurants in Amsterdam since 1988. Bart is also a member of the Slow Food Foundation, and strongly believes that people should spend more time and attention on food and especially what is available in their immediate environment. 'There are so many beautiful products and dishes that we have completely forgotten because we focus too much on what is available abroad.' Favorite cuisine: Mediterranean cuisine en Dutch cuisine. I love cooking at home for a select group of people like family and friends. Cooking and eating have a clear social role in every society and culture; they bring people together. Food, drink, and music are central to my life, and I try to share as much as possible with my fellow human beings. Bart also gives cooking workshops and cooking classes and presents on the radio cooking programsBart is happy to be your chef at home!
