Cooking workshop Improvisation: efficient cooking without lists or recipes

improvisation cooking workshop

Ever come home and not feel like going to the store for groceries? You bet! We're often tempted to think we need to pick up something at the store to complete a meal. However, we're more likely to end up throwing away leftovers in the fridge or freezer because they've spoiled or gone bad. A shocking amount isn't just thrown away in the restaurant industry; it happens just as often at home. When we look in our fridge, there's almost always something we can use to make a delicious and complete meal. Often, this can be done relatively quickly and without a recipe.

Moederskeuken offers an improvisation cooking workshop to learn how to cook not so much with leftovers, but more creatively, and more by relying on feeling and taste. Learn more about the products still in your fridge or freezer and how to combine them. Discover new ingredients; there are, of course, many more types of starch than potatoes, pasta, and rice. A pasta sauce can also be made without tomatoes or cream. Broaden your horizons and learn to cook and eat more variedly. A varied diet is, incidentally, an essential part of healthy eating. One of the main reasons why Westerners are getting fatter and eating less healthily is because there is less and less variety in our food.

Upon arrival, guests receive a welcome snack and drink, and once everyone is present, we hand out aprons and get to work. Various products are beautifully displayed on the workbench: vegetables, meat, fish, fruit, and other ingredients. However, there are no menus or recipes, which are normally used for a cooking workshopDuring the improvisation cooking workshop, you'll be improvising! Together, we'll explore possible combinations that will lead to a dish. It could be a 3- or 4-course meal, or a selection of smaller dishes like tapas. The participants decide entirely in consultation with the chef. The chef will guide the participants and explain the various ingredients and their possible combinations. Together, we'll then cook a delicious meal that will also be enjoyed together. The improvisation cooking workshop lasts approximately 4 hours. Cost: €69,50 per person, including drinks.
